One of the things that I really love is treating myself to an occasional manicure and pedicure. Not that I wanted to have beautiful nails all the time but because I have a persistent ingrown on my right toe. And if I don’t get it trimmed, surely the nails would drill its way inside my toes. If I have it removed, it would make me shout in pain!

So yesterday, I went to a beauty salon and spa. I didn’t actually go there to get a manicure and pedicure done but because I was just there to get the jacket my daughter and I left when I got her hair and make-up done for her birthday. But when I saw the “manicurista” who usually takes my ingrown, I immediately called her and asked her to do me a pedicure and removed my ingrown. Of course, I got scolded and the session was in pain.

After the pedicure, I got my manicure done by a different person. She left me because her friend arrived and needed her services. Well, it was rude but I don’t mind. I think if she does my hands, I will end up in pain too.

Anyway, while the second person did my manicure, she suggested that I should get a facial spa. And since I was having problems with my whiteheads and blackheads, I told myself why not since it would only cost me Php 350.00 and since this would be my first time to have it done in a beauty parlor and spa, then why not. But when I got inside their facial room, I was convinced by the person in charge to get a facial diamond peel instead because they are having it at 50% discount. So that means I only need to pay Php 550.00 for that. So, easily convinced, I got one!

Before my session, I took pictures of myself inside their facial room. Then when the session was on progress, I thought to myself that the procedure doesn’t feel like a diamond peel. Well, I wouldn’t know since that was my first time but I just felt it wasn’t and I was only getting a massive facial spa with whiteheads and blackheads removal. I was expecting some peeling of some sort on my face but nothing happened.

Anyway, after the session, I paid for my manicure, pedicure and facial diamond peel plus tips to three service providers. Then I went out saying thank you to all of them. More or less, I spent Php 1,000.00 on myself that day!

So when I went home, I felt good that my nails where clean and so as my face but one thing that kept on bugging me was – spending 1000 pesos for myself was so stupid but the feeling of being pampered was nice and honestly, addicting! The feeling of being taken cared while you just sit and relax was awesome!

I don’t know if I should feel guilty or what but somehow my feelings was divided. I felt bad and good at the same time.
